People across Western New York have one week to get Fredonia on to a Hulu series that will renovate its Main Street. 

Fredonia is a top five finalists for a show called Small Business Revolution, meaning it’s in the running for a $500,000 grand prize in addition to being featured in eight episodes on the Hulu series.

The town was one of 4,000 towns nominated.

The winner will then get help from a crew of professionals to revitalize an update some businesses within the town which will be a catalyst for change for the entire community. 

Coming into Tuesday’s announcement, residents and business owners knew they were in the top 10 but at 6:45 a.m., the good news came that they were in the top five.

The show Small Business Revolution revitalizes small towns one small business at a time. The show, hosted by Ty Pennington and Amanda Brinkman, has four seasons posted on Hulu.

The week-long voting session began at 8 a.m. Tuesday and runs until 10 p.m. on January 21.

Grace Czechowski nominated the Chautauqua County town and said the selection shows how one person can help make a difference.  

”We all have a connection here, roots here,” she said. “We come back for the holidays. A lot of people have skills that they can use to help, whether it’s the village or small businesses for the community, so just reach out and make the ask, there’s always a way you can help.”

People can vote once per day per device to support Fredonia’s chances of being selected for the show.
