The man accused of intentionally crashing his car into a Buffalo nightclub is now charged with attempted murder.
Najeeb Jackson, 24, was arraigned on the upgraded charges this morning.
Jackson pleaded not guilty to two counts of attempted murder.
That's on top of assault and reckless endangerment charges he already faced.
District Attorney John Flynn says Jackson intentionally crashed into the front window of "Bottoms Up" nightclub in August.
It happened shortly after closing time.
Flynn said Jackson had an earlier confrontation with two young women at the bar and was escorted out of the bar by security.
After a confrontation with the bouncers, Flynn said Jackson used his car as a weapon, driving into the front of the bar and hitting two bouncers in the process.
Flynn said one of those bouncers pulled his gun and fired three shots into the car.
Neither bouncer faces any charges.
"That's interesting because there were gunshots fired at him,” said Michael D’Amico, the defense attorney. “He was beat up, he was assaulted on multiple occasions by multiple people at the bar. That's something that's going to be played out as we go forward."
“There's video of the case not only from the inside of the bar but from the outside of the bar as well,” Flynn said. “The video clearly shows that there was no criminal conduct by the bouncers."
Flynn said the bouncer was justified in firing the gun.
Both of the bouncers had minor injuries and have recovered.
Flynn said he decided to upgrade the charges after reviewing the video and speaking with witnesses.
If convicted Jackson could face 25 years in prison.
