U.S. Senator Kirsten Gillibrand made a visit to Western New York to hear community's opinion on many issues in the state like gun violence, mental health and vaccines.

During a town hall meeting Wednesday at the Buffalo Irish Center, she said dropping out of the presidential race at the end of August really helped her focus more on the issues in the state and hearing from the different communities.

"I got to bring a lot of the ideas that have really worked in New York and offer them across the country, which was very inspiring and rewarding,” she said. “But it was not my time, and I feel very blessed that I can take everything that I've learned on the campaign trail and apply it right here in New York."
