Spectrum is teaming up with Habitat for Humanity for a national charity initiative.

More than 30 local employees spent their Saturday working on a home in Buffalo as part of the Spectrum Housing Assist.

It's a program dedicated to improving 50,000 homes by next year.

That started by completing some much-needed work with Habitat for Humanity crews at a home on Winslow Avenue.

"I think by leveraging the support of sponsors like Spectrum and the work of volunteers from all over the community, we can have a really positive impact here,” said James Rachette, Habitat for Humanity Buffalo construction site supervisor.

The Spectrum Housing Assist program has helped improve more than 34,000 homes.
