The life-saving transplant service known as UNYTS will now be known as ConnectLife.

The organization has a new name and headquarters in Williamsville off of Main Street, but the mission is still the same: to save lives.

Last year alone, the blood and organ donor organization potentially saved more than 89,000 lives through organ, eye, tissue and blood donations.

While they plan to continue this work, they hope this new name will better represent their work that connects families, neighbors and communities.

Mark Simon, the organization’s CEO, said it’s important for the community to easily understand their mission, to make sure donors keep increasing.

“One pint of blood can save three lives,” Simon said. “A tissue donor can enhance the lives of 75 people so ConnectLife throughout the course of a year, we may touch the lives of over half a million people, not only here in Western New York but across the United States through blood, organ, tissue and eye donations.”

The community can learn more about this exciting change at the organizations eighth annual Bucket List Bash on August 22.
