A legend, recognizable from films like “Elf” and TV classics like "The Mary Tyler Moore Show," stopped in Buffalo Friday.
Ed Asner stepped off the stage and into Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
The Emmy-winner visited Buffalo on tour for his one-man show titled "A Man and His Prostate,” telling the story of a man confronting prostate cancer.
Roswell sponsored the show not only to raise awareness, but to help those struggling with the disease find an outlet through comedy.
"It's a wonderful primer, primmer, I should say,” he said. “Primer's a paint, I don't want to paint. Let the primmer tell people what to look for in prostate cancer and how to proceed with it."
Asner's been working for six decades with roles on iconic shows like "Gunsmoke" and provided the voice of cantankerous grump-turned-lovable neighbor Carl Fredricksen in Disney’s “Up.”
