What’s likely to become a destination for kids of all ages will open for daily enjoyment this week.

Explore & More — Ralph C. Wilson Jr. Children’s Museum has been open for the past few weekends, but it will open daily starting Thursday.

Stepping into the world-class children's museum, it’s clear it was designed for kids to play into possibilities.

From being a pro-athlete, to building the next sky-scraper or creating the newest invention, kids can learn to shoot for the stars.

"We want to expose kids to whatever their interest is, we want to spark that interest and give them opportunities to learn and grow in that channel so we do have a science area where kids can be the next scientist, the next researcher,” said Amelia Blake, the museum’s manager of learning and education. “Behind me we have our house frame so they can be the next construction worker, electrician or plumber. Whatever really they're interests is we want to take that and drive them to learn more about that.”

Children can learn about all the different cultures that make up Buffalo in the Being Good Neighbors play zone, right before they check out the Moving Water play-zone and walk back in time to learn about the Erie Canal.

"It's huge for our city and even more so because our museum is for and about Buffalo and Western New York, it celebrates all the great things that our city has to offer and our region has to offer and that's really unique most children's museums aren't designed like that way, so kids get these hands on play-based experiences that are really unique and are still highlighting everything in our region," Blake said.

Once open on Thursday, kids can check out a brand new exhibit, Rigging and Ramble.

"Which is our new climbing structure, this allows kids to climb up above our 30 foot waterfall and see all of the water exhibit below,  as well as to just get out some kinetic energy," said Anna Musun-Miller, Explore and More Exhibits Manager.

That's not the only thing that's new.

"Even if you've come before there's always something new to explore here at Explore and More, we have programming that changes all the time, so even if you've seen all the spaces there's more to see and do, it's a new day for play every day here at Explore and More," said Jeannine Weber Kahabka, Explore and More Director of Marketing and Public Relations.

Once open daily, the museum's hours will be 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
