Thousands of runners braved the rain at Delaware Park Thursday night for the 39th annual J.P. Morgan Corporate Challenge.

The event drew its largest number of companies ever.

More than 420 businesses in Western New York with just under 14,000 employees participated this year, falling shy of last year's record.

You may have seen some of your favorite Spectrum News talent participating in the race.

Even in the rain, it was a great experience for all runners.

“It is also a big party, and I think it's a great community event. It's a really competitive race, but it's also just a really fun casual race for a lot of people, that just want to come and enjoy some time with their company, and to network with other people in the community,” said Melina Buck, local race director.

Proceeds from the challenge will be donated to the Beverly Gray Business Exchange Center.
