StudioHue DIY in downtown Buffalo is joining the effort to provide school supplies and backpacks to honor the memory of Buffalo Bills superfan Pancho Billa.

The items they collect will be donated to Buffalo Public Schools.

"Something good came out of something bad,” said Alicia Hark, one of the studio’s owners. “Me and my co-owner are both season ticket holders, so we wanted to do something to honor his wishes."

Their efforts are in addition to an ongoing fundraiser with The Teacher’s Desk, which has raised more than $90,000 to fulfill the last wish of Pancho, real name Ezra Castro, who died last week. Instead of flowers, he said he wanted to fill backpack with school supplies for children in need.

Donations for StudioHue DIY’s supply drive can be made at the studio, located at 50 Broadway, Wednesday and Thursday from 6 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.
