Two paramedics from the Town of Tonawanda have been suspended after they were accused of stealing prescription medications out of a drug drop box.

Jeremy Pecoraro is facing charges including criminal possession of a controlled substances. No charges have been filed against the other paramedic.

Pecoraro has been a paramedic with the town for four years; the other paramedic was a 22-year veteran.

Police said the two men came under suspicion when it was discovered that the other paramedic was violating departmental procedures by emptying out the prescription drug collection bin alone.

An investigation led them to look at Pecoraro as well.

They believe both medics were keeping the drugs for personal use.
