Gov. Andrew Cuomo is taking action to keep drivers safe during this weekend's expected wind storm.

All empty tractor trailers and tandems will banned from part of the Thruway and several major highways — including parts of I-190 and I-290 — starting at 10 a.m. Sunday.

The National Weather Sevice has issued a High Wind Warning from 7 a.m. Sunday through 10 a.m. Monday. The core of the strongest winds looks to be from mid-afternoon through Sunday night. Gusts could reach up to 75 mph.
