Amherst police say it could take up to 24 hours to fully repair a water main break on Niagara Falls Boulevard.

The water main broke early Monday morning near the Boulevard Mall.

As a result, Niagara Falls Boulevard is down to one lane northbound between Sheridan Drive and Maple Road.

The Boulevard Mall has full water service and no residential customers are affected by the break in ther 12-inch line, according to the Erie County Water Authority.

At this time, it is anticipated that the work will not be completed until early Monday evening at the quickest, ECWA said.
