3 Confirmed Storm-Related Deaths, According to Erie County Executive

Erie County Executive Mark Poloncarz says there are now three confirmed storm-related deaths.

Police say 69-year-old Lawrence "Larry" Bierl was found dead Thursday at an NFTA Metro Bus shelter in Williamsville around 10 a.m. The Erie County Medical Examiner determined he died of hypothermia.

Amherst Town Supervisor Brian Kulpa tweeted that Bierl was a fixture along Main Street.

Sometime last night or this morning thw Amherst and @V_Williamsville Community lost a fixture along Main Street. Larry was quiet, polite person that many, inculding @amherstpoliceny have sought to help, but chose a life of isolation & seclusion. I @ many others are heart broken. https://t.co/M5DZ3eMM5Y

Poloncarz also says a senior male was found dead with a snowblower running next to him, and that another senior male was found dead while shoveling.
