Two narrow bands of lake snow will continue off of Lake Erie tonight with an additional 1 to 4 inches of accumulation in these bands. Blowing snow in open areas will also continue to be problem reducing visibilities even in areas where it’s not snowing. Be prepared for changeable driving conditions.

The good news is that the worst of this severe winter blast is coming to an end. A few patchy light snow showers will linger into Friday morning, otherwise, it will still be very cold but not as harsh with partly sunny skies, light winds and highs in the teens.

County and city officials are asking people to stay home if they can and to stay inside as much as possible, as frostbite can set in within 30 minutes.

Most school districts across the area canceled classes for Wednesday and Thursday, and closings are starting to roll in for Friday.
