Western New York is getting more than $500,000 to combat tax evasion and welfare fraud.

The governor announced $13.5 million statewide for the Crimes Against Revenue Program.

The grants fund personnel, including forensic accountants, investigators and assistant district attorneys, to work on fraud and evasion cases.

Erie County is getting just shy of $415,000; Niagara County is set to receive nearly $70,000 and Chautauqua County will receive $65,000.
