A new $5 million project is underway in downtown Niagara Falls.

TM Montante Development recently started construction on a mixed-used development at the corner of Niagara and 7th streets.

The project includes an adaptive reuse of the existing buildings, as well as the construction of a new glass atrium.

It will include commercial space and a corner café, as well as 17 apartments.

The anchor tenant will be the Niagara Global Tourism Institute, which will also open the first co-working business incubator in the city.

The developer received more than $1 million in grant money to help with the project.
