About 33 trucks out were Tuesday in Chautauqua County, working around the clock to plow and salt more than 550 miles of roadway.

The salt barns also got restocked on Tuesday.

The weather caused several minor accidents along Route 60 on both ends of the county.

State Police advise no unnecessary travel, but do suggest motorists have a full tank of gas and emergency equipment on-hand.

"Be prepared to take extra time to getting to your destination. Slow down and be prepared for icy conditions.  Even if you have snow tires, they don't really help that much on the ice," said Captain Eric Balon, New York State Police.

Also remember to keep a safe distance from the plows and watch out for the snow throw.
