Former president Louis Petrucci is officially back on the Buffalo Board of Education.

The board held a special meeting Wednesday to swear in Petrucci as the Park District's representative.

Former board member Catherine Flanagan-Priore resigned last month.

That's after the board decided to replace Kaleida Health as the district's school nurse provider.

Petrucci says he's looking to move on to other issues affecting the school system.

“There’s a variety of different challenges that the whole district faces, but also some individual schools within the Park District,” Petrucci said.

One of those issues includes expanding public transportation services for students.

Petrucci says doing so would make it easier for kids to take part in after school activities.
