LEWISTON, N.Y. — A new showcase for local businesses is headed to Niagara County throughout the summer.

The Lewiston Artisan Market kicks off this weekend at Academy Park in the village. It will feature 15 full-time and several more part-time vendors from the area with a variety of food and drinks, health and beauty products, and handcrafted artwork and home decor.

Organizer Jamie Symmonds had her own business in Lewiston for years. She hopes to spotlight unique local products and the people who produce them, while creating another reason for people to visit the shops and restaurants in the village.

"There's so much not just in Lewiston but throughout Western New York, Niagara County particularly, that we have that many people aren't just aware of: the great farmers, the artisans, the wineries, the breweries,” she said.

The market will run from 8 a.m. to noon on Saturdays starting this weekend and continue into October. The entire list of featured markets can be found here.
