SAN ANTONIO -- Local cancer survivors are giving back while strutting their stuff on the runway.
It's part of the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society's "Models of Courage" event.
Twenty cancer survivors modeled clothing at the San Antonio Shrine Auditorium. Texas native and ABC News correspondent, John Quinones emceed the fundraiser.
The annual event raises money and awareness for cancer patients.
"it makes you feel really good that youre helping society and cancer patients and we are doing our best that we can to raise money get those research out there, the drugs out there and let’s try to cure cancer and beat it," said Maya Thukral, with the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society.
Organizers say the event typically raises $1,000,000 for cancer research.
