A 2-year-old was killed in a crash on Interstate 81 in Jefferson County.
It happened in the town of Ellisburg around 3:30 p.m. Tuesday. State Police say a car was driving north on I-81 when it left the road and hit a guide rail.
Jayden Thurston, 2 of Watertown, who was sitting in the back seat, was pronounced dead at the scene.
The driver was transported to Samaritan Medical Center in Watertown for non-life-threatening injuries, while the front seat passenger was not hurt.
Troopers are looking into what caused the vehicle to leave the highway.
