GOSHEN, N.Y. -- Contention over construction of a Legoland in Goshen continued with a demonstration Saturday.
The group "Concerned Citizens for the Hudson Valley" met by the Legoland Welcome Center for the weekly protest.
Parent company Merlin Entertainments plans to build the Legoland on more than 500 acres of land near Route 17.
Supporters have previously pointed to the park's potential positive impact on the local economy, but protesters express concern over emergency resources, zoning issues, and the town's handling of the project.
"I think there's been a lot of behind the scenes meetings that we have not heard about, and I think there's a lot of deals that are not transparent, and I think these need to be accounted for," Goshen resident Robert Wolfson said.
Current plans for the project have Legoland set to open in 2019.
