ELLERY, N.Y. -- The latest blast of winter weather blanketed Chautauqua County with nearly a foot of heavy snow, allowing some snowmobile trails to reopen.
A few of the clubs are reporting some flooded areas from the warm up but a number of the trails around the county are good to go.
Riders were flocking to Bemus Point on Friday, excited to get out and enjoy the snow.
"It's pretty exciting, it's been many years since we've been out before Christmas and before New Years," said Alec and Steve Olmsted, Frewsburg residents.
Remember to check conditions with the local clubs or the county trail hotline (800) 242-4569 before heading out to ride. There is also an interactive state trail map showing which trails are open.
