The countdown is on, Christmas is just 25 days away, but over at the Roberson Museum in Binghamton, their holiday celebration is already in full swing. From now until January 8 people can catch their annual Home for the Holidays display. Camille DeLongis has a closer look.
BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- The Christmas tree display at the Roberson Museum has been a staple in the Binghamton community for 62 years now, and those who have walked through know it's truly a magical experience.
From the visitor center to the mansion, it’s decked out from head to toe. This year there are more than 100 Christmas trees on display.
People can see the traditionally decorated trees of course, but there are also a range of displays representing holiday traditions of cultures from around the world.
And new this year, something that's been a huge hit with kids so far, is the Candyland room. From giant lollipops, to candy canes and cotton candy, it's certainly going to make mouths water. And a can't miss? On the first level of the museum are some of more unique displays, like a Star Wars-themed tree.
Organizers say it this is the perfect experience to put you in the holiday spirit.
"It's just the feeling that you get as soon as you walk in. You know, the Christmas music is playing, you're literally surrounded by some of the most beautiful trees and displays that you're going to see all season and it's really neat to see, as soon as people come in they're just instantly in a great mood," said Roberson Museum Marketing Coordinator Adam Sabol.
Home for the Holidays runs 7 days a week. General admission is $8, students and seniors can get in for $6, and children under four are free.
The display runs until January 8. For more information on hours, just head to their website.
