Day eight of deliberations in the David Carlson murder trial continues Thursday as the deadlocked jury is back in court.

Carlson is accused of killing fugitive rape suspect Norris Acosta-Sanchez in 2013.

Defense attorney's argue Carlson shot Acosta-Sanchez in self-defense, while prosecutors say Acosta-Sanchez was on the ground begging for his life before Carlson shot him.

The jury told the judge again yesterday that it cannot reach a unanimous verdict. But the judge sent the jury back to continue deliberations.

The jury also requested a read back of the jury instruction and the deadlock charge.

Jurors later requested readback of testimony on Carlson's ambulance ride to the hospital. That readback will take place Thursday morning.
