BUFFALO, N.Y. -- SUNY Buffalo State's Nepali Association and other members of the community came together to help those affected by the recent earthquakes in Nepal.

A fundraiser and candlelight vigil took place Sunday evening at the university's Campbell Student Union Social Hall.

A 7.3 magnitude quake killed more than 100 people and injured thousands last week. This was the second major quake to hit Nepal. Thousands were killed during an earthquake last month.

Proceeds from the event are going to the International Institute of Buffalo, to go toward the Nepal earthquake relief fund.
