The names of all 6 million Jews killed in the Holocaust are being read out loud on the Upper West Side.
The Jewish Community Center in Manhattan began the reading of names last night at 10 p.m. It's a tradition that goes back nearly 20 years.
People who are taking part say it's a deeply personal and moving experience.
"I can read the name of a father, a mother and four children, and realize they're all gone and there's nobody to remember them. So we remember them," said one participant.
The name reading is expected to conclude around 7 p.m. Thursday.
