BUFFALO, N.Y. — Over at M&T Bank's Ensington branch in Buffalo, there is a celebration of jazz.
Local artist Edreys Wajed is creating a mural on the Bailey Avenue building in honor of Buffalo-born jazz legend Grover Washington, Jr.
Washington is considered one of the founders of the smooth jazz style.
This project is the latest investment M&T Bank has made on the East Side.
The $2 million in projects so far are all about making the bank a better place for the community.
"Excitement brings excitement, right? We are in such tough times and it is exciting to see a man of color doing something like this. He is in his zone, he is in his artistic creative behavior," said Kensington branch manager Craig Pridgen.
A fun fact about Wajed, he is a finalist for artist of the year in the art service initiative of Western New York’s 2020 Spark Awards.
