A local food pantry is expanding its services in the time of COVID-19
The First Fruits Food Pantry at Lincoln Memorial United Methodist Church relaunched with expanded space, increased freezer capacity, and additional healthy options this weekend.
It's all to meet the larger need in the community due to the pandemic.
Organizers say they want it to become a staple for residents.
"We want to be a constant. We don't want that long line around the corner for the one and done. We want to be a constant so you can get things you need today. We have a new touch system, we're using our gloves. You sit here, we'll shop for you and then we'll bring your groceries to you," said coordinator Rita Hubbard-Robinson.
The market will be open every Saturday from 10 a.m. to noon and Tuesdays from 5 to 7 p.m.
