Tiny shoppers filled their carts at Walmart on Walden Avenue in Cheektowaga with the boys in blue.

Buffalo Police held their annual Shop with a Cop event.

Kids with families who need a little extra help this holiday season were chauffeured to the store in squad cars.

They were able to pick up gifts for themselves and the rest of their family.

Police officers say its a fun way for them to give back the community they serve.

"This right here also is donations from the police officers' pocket. The money, they pull it out of their pockets to take these kids shopping," said Byron Lockwood, Buffalo Police Commissioner.

Lockwood says the shop with a cop event helps build a critical relationship between the community and Buffalo police.
