Letchworth State Park was recently voted America's number one state park out of more than 6,000 state parks in the United States.

The mighty Genesee River roars through the gorge over three major waterfalls. The great thing about this getaway is that you can view the falls without much difficulty because they're all connected by an easy, walkable trail. You'll be amazed at the beauty here!

It's not just the Upper, Middle and Lower Falls here at Letchworth. There's 66 miles of trails to explore - a hikers paradise!

Camping and lodging can be found for those that want to stay for a while. The historical Glen Iris Inn is a big favorite in the park and in a perfect location, right next to the falls. There's even a Letchworth State Park Museum for history buffs.

There's no entrance fee to Letchworh State Park until Memorial Day Weekend. After that, it's $8 per vehicle, but if you're 62 or older and a New York state resident, weekdays are also free, non-holidays.

Letchworth State Park, just southwest of Rochester,  is an enormous state park. There's 14,350 acres of state park, and plenty of space to do a lot of exploring.
