BUFFALO, N.Y. — Children have a wide range of paths they can take after high school, but it's never too early to start introducing them to the idea of college. Buffalo Prep has a new program that does just that.
The new Prep Scholars Academy program held its first classes at the Belle Center last week. It's a community-based summer enrichment program for middle school students who aspire to go to college.
It offers bilingual instruction and expands Buffalo Prep's services into the west side of Buffalo. They just welcomed fifth and sixth graders who will go through five weeks of academic and social enrichment. The program continues until the kids reach ninth grade and helps them transition into high school.
The program also expands Buffalo Prep's footprint, as now they operate three sites across the city during the summer that support talented and underrepresented youth.
The school's website says applications are currently closed for kids are who eligible to apply.
