The Orleans-Niagara BOCES Teachers' Association is accusing Orleans-Niagara BOCES of ignoring COVID-19 protocols.
The teachers' association filed a public employee health and safety complaint Thursday with the state commissioner of labor.
Orleans-Niagara BOCES allegedly violated reopening guidelines.
The teachers' association says numerous classrooms at various sites do not have enough physical space to social distance and the cleaning and disinfecting mandates of the reopening plan are not being followed.
In a statement, senior district superintendent Dr. Clark Godshall says the New York State United Teachers has targeted Orleans-Niagara BOCES with inaccurate claims and he looks forward to the regulatory agency confirming that they are in full compliance.
He says more nurses and custodial staff have been hired to meet the increased needs.
Remote, virtual, and on-site instruction is being offered to meet the needs of students.
