There is no word yet from Governor Cuomo on reopening schools, but those that do return to on-campus learning will need designated quarantine rooms, according to New York Health Commissioner Dr. Howard Zucker.

Zucker will not recommend every student get tested for COVID-19 before returning to school, unless they show symptoms.

He says a quarantine room should be available on campus for those identified as showing symptoms.

Zucker adds that students also should not gather closely at bus stops.

"I realize the bus issue is a complex one because if you limit the number of kids in a bus, which we'll have to do, it adds the number of busses. It makes it harder for kids," said Zucker. "It'll be one of the harder parts to manage, but the CDC and all the recommendations is to be six feet apart and to space out the kids."
