A child who has been missing from California for more than a year was found safe in Buffalo earlier this week thanks to the help of a popular police reality TV show.

The U.S. Marshals Service says Talia Jones, 6, was located Monday with her mother, Melinda Davis, who does not have custody of the little girl.

Authorities say a tip came after their story was featured on an episode of "Live PD." A viewer recognized them and called the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children saying they may have fled to Upstate New York.

The child was placed with the Erie County Department of Child Services and her mother (pictured below) was arrested on a child abduction warrant.

The NCMEC says more than 50 children featured on Live PD since 2017 have been found.

The show was canceled in June following protests over police brutality.
