CHEEKTOWAGA, N.Y. -- A man is accused of impersonating a Buffalo police officer on the heels of a bizarre incident last Friday in Cheektowaga.

A Cheektowaga Police Department officer, responding to a call for a reckless driver, allegedly found Corey Shepard, dressed in a police uniform, also responding. The department stated the officer noticed Shepard acting suspicious, but then showed the officer a badge and ID.

Upon investigating further, dash cam video from the officer's car showed Shepard pointing a gun at the stopped vehicle.

Police arrested Shepard, 26, at his Cheektowaga home on Monday and reportedly found stolen parking tickets, a police bulletproof vest and hat, various uniforms, handcuffs, a baton, and pepper spray, along with steroids and numerous fake badges and IDs.

Shepard has been charged with reckless endangerment and criminal impersonation. Anyone who might have been victimized by Shepard is asked to call police.
