A tourist from Pakistan was killed when he lost control of a vehicle early Monday near Colvin Boulevard in Tonawanda.

Town of Tonawanda Police say Hamad Mir, 40, was driving a Kia Forte around 1 a.m. when he lost control of the vehicle. The car struck the right guardrail on the westbound 390 near Colvin Boulevard, pinning Mir behind the steering wheel. Paramedics pronounced him dead at the scene. 

Three children in the vehicle were taken to a nearby hospital for treatment. An elderly woman was admitted to a hospital after complaining of upper body pain. The fifth passenger, an adult woman, did not have any injuries.
