BUFFALO, N.Y. — A Tuesday night shooting on Buffalo's east side involved a parole officer.

A source says the shooting took place on the 300 block of Northumberland Avenue, but ended about six miles south from there.

It was just before 9:30 p.m. when the shots were fired.

A source says a parole officer shot a suspect in the leg. The suspect then took off in a van and was later found at North Legion Drive and Stevenson Street, where the suspect was taken into custody. The parole officer was not injured in this incident, according to a source.

No word yet on what lead up to the shooting and no word on the suspect's condition at this time.
