Trying to deal with the changing COVID-19 regulations from the state is a community effort.

Under the current restrictions, Rumble Ponies fans have to present a proof of COVID-19 vaccination or proof or a negative COVID-19 test.

While that system works well for adults, it hasn't been great for younger fans.

So the team, Broome County and city of Binghamton came up with a partnership to make things easier.

Until regulations change on May 19, anyone who shows up for a Binghamton game will be able to get a rapid test at the stadium.

For the Rumble Ponies, this is a game changer.

"Before this directive, it was really difficult for kids to come to our game," said Rumble Ponies Managing Director John "JB" Bayne. "It just opens it up we're a family event place and it allows kids and family to do something you couldn't do in the past... it's a big deal."

The Rumble Ponies' home opener will be on Tuesday, May 11 with first pitch at 6:35 p.m.
