Yes, there's a United States women's baseball team

In fact they're very good. The U.S. is  ranked number two in the world behind Japan. The ladies have a chance to gain some ground however, when they be compete for gold in their first ever Pan-Am games against four other teams in Toronto.

"It's going to be great to go out there and show what we're capable of", says Sarah Hudek. "That we can play just as good as any other male or female team."

The team fields a roster filled with players from all walks of life, with at least one thing in common: the will to represent their country on the big stage.

Malaika Underwood states, "There's really nothing more you could want, to have that USA across your chest."

With Division I athletes from across the country, it's no question that the team is full of talent. When viewers pick up on that, the hope is that it will gain in popularity, and interest from future players. Success in the Pan-Am games would go a long way in seeking that attention.
