Lacey Leonardi is an anchor on Your Morning who specializes in education, infrastructure and logistics news.

Lacey’s love of local news started long ago in her small Georgia hometown of Saint Simons Island. Growing up, dinner table discussions were on current events, the coffee table was covered in newspapers and the news radio was on in most rooms of the house. Lacey learned at a young age that knowing the news of the day should be prioritized.

Lacey was in high school when she was offered a job working in the newsroom of WBSG/WJXX News Center 21 in 1989. After attending Abilene Christian University in Abilene, Texas, her love of local news took her all across the country, telling stories in Georgia, Jacksonville, Orlando, Houston, and now New York.

It was a position at the ABC affiliate in Orlando that exposed Lacey to her dream of working at a local 24-hour news station. This dream was realized when she then chased down the opportunity to be part of the launch of Time Warner/Belos News24Houston. Lacey has been with Spectrum News 1 since it launched in 2003 and brings unmatched enthusiasm and passion to her dream job.

Lacey has interviewed hundreds of memorable and special people and worked on thousands of different news stories since 1989, but her favorite interviews include Barbara Bush and Colin Powell. Lacey is a Telly Award winner, SU Whitman School of Management 40 Under 40 Honoree, and recipient of the Carol Baldwin Philanthropic Award. She has won numerous community and traffic safety awards from local law enforcement as well as the Onondaga County Traffic Safety Advisory Board.

When she’s not working, you can find Lacey spending time decompressing with friends and family on Oneida River. Lacey loves watching her daughter play in one of her many sports leagues, spending time with friends, and investing in the community and her local church. She also runs a family farm in western Kentucky.

You can find Lacey on Facebook as Lacey Leonardi, and Instagram and Twitter at @LaceyTVNews.
