A state Supreme Court judge has ordered the Oneida County Board of Elections to canvass more than 1,000 affidavit ballots in the still undecided race for New York's 22nd Congressional District.

It was recently revealed that the board failed to process voter registration forms from the Oneida County DMV, even though they were submitted on time.

That led to voters being told they weren't registered at their polling place and submitting affadavit ballots instead.

According to the judge, 1,028 of those affidavit ballots were rejected without proper review.

The board now has to review them by next Wednesday to see if they should be counted.
