The Southern Tier has seen its fair share of severe weather, leaving some people worried about the effects of climate change .

Binghamton University students packed into Old Union Hall Thursday evening to speak with Rep. Anthony Brindisi.

Many said they want changes in Washington with more attention focused on the climate issues.

"It's important that we're involved in the decision making process," said BU senior Natalia Romanzo. "Because it will be our issues to face. Especially in this area, I think we've had three large-scale floods."

Brindisi says he wants to create a climate change group that meets on a regular basis at the BU campus.
