A bible college that has been in the Southern Tier for more than 100 years is relocating and the buyer is planning to close on the property within 60 days.

Davis College in Johnson City has decided to sell the campus and move to a smaller location nearby. They're also entering into a shared services agreement with Word of Life Bible Institute in Pottersville.

Adam Weitsman, owner of Upstate Shredding, is planning to buy the property for $3.7 million. He said there are several institutions interested in renting the property, and wants to choose the best one for the region.

"Three universities have shown interest in doing a satellite campus type project there. We've had two larger business groups want to do like a campus type thing for their businesses. But I've talked to Johnson City and I wanted to see what they thought would be best for the area," said Weitsman.

Currently the college is a non-profit so there are no property taxes, but Weitsman said that will change once the purchase goes through.
