BINGHAMTON, N.Y. -- It won't be long until baseball fans in the Southern Tier hear the crack of the bat once again.

The Binghamton Rumble Ponies are now less than two months away from Opening day.

"The entire staff is excited. We're hearing things in the community that everybody is excited. It's just a great thing for the Binghamton community to have this stadium that's a great historic stadium here in the Southern Tier," said John "JB" Bayne, Rumble Ponies Managing Director.

Rumble Ponies fans will notice some changes on opening day. A massive new video board is being installed, along with a new field and of course, all new red stadium seating.

"I think they're going to be amazed. The colors are going to a bit more vibrant, you're going to be able to see the video boards. As technology evolves, things become better," said Bayne.

Crews were on hand throughout the day making repairs to the roofing and installing new signage. Members of the Rumble Ponies Front Office say it's important to continue giving fans a new experience every year.

"Without the community, we wouldn’t be here so we really embrace everything that they do and we really thank them for all the times they come out to the stadium," said Bayne.

And of course, the players are just as excited to begin the season.

"Players are the heart and soul of what we do here. This community takes such great care of the players when they come in and the players usually give back to the community be doing appearances in schools and things," said Bayne.

Opening Day is April 11th. Single game tickets go on sale at NYSEG stadium Monday morning.
