A hands-on project for students that includes one of the Southern Tier's international stars.

Chenango Bridge Elementary Students were asked to design a conceptual shelter for Tajiri the Giraffe. Not only did they research giraffes, but they also created a floor plan, and came up with a budget.

Rerepresentatives from the Animal Adventure Park spoke with the students Friday.

"They're so excited every time they come into my classroom,” said teaching assistant Carrie Tronovitch. “They're eager to get started. They can't wait for it to kind of be done because they just want to get going"

Animal Adventure has already created their shelter for Tajiri, which was displayed during Friday’s presentation, but the students were working on their own project as part of a STEAM learning opportunity.
