With Christmas is just one week away, many families getting ready for all their favorite traditions. In Binghamton, one family tradition has erupted into a holiday favorite for the entire community.

Christmasland was created by Mark Buza and his brother Paul. It all started with a little help from their dad.

"Started off very humble, very modestly. It literally took us a day or two days at most to set this up. And then little by little we started collecting more and more things, really enjoyed doing it," said Buza.

But how did the Christmas display get so big?

"You just start adding more on every year. You look at and find something that you like, you get interested and you buy it," he continued.

Every year, thousands of people spill into the street just to see the light show.

"It's great giving back to the community and sharing the profound feeling of Christmas, and what Christmas stands for," Buza said. "There's something everyone can identify with as far as Christmas is concerned."

Buza's Christmasland is accepting donations this year.

You can bring non-perishable foods to support the Community Hunger Outreach Warehouse. They're also accepting monetary donations for a Johnson City School social worker battling cancer.

Christmasland is located at 285 Lower Stella Ireland Road. It's open from 5 to 9 p.m.
