The Broome County Dog Shelter now has a new look, thanks to some students from SUNY Broome.

Fifteen students painted a mural that faces the road as drivers pass by.

They were each assigned separate panels to paint during the semester, with the theme of adoption.

The mural features everything from the Cider Mill in Endicott, to Otsiningo Park in Binghamton.

Students say they hope their work will inspire others to come on in and adopt a dog.

"We really wanted to incorporate the importance of adoption, so in my mural I actually have an adoption day up there, so we really wanted to push that in and have people come in and adopt because it's really important to get these dogs to a home and get them somewhere they're loved," said Kareemah Johnson, SUNY Broome student.

Students from Chenango Valley High School also painted a section of the mural.
