Binghamton University will be honoring a local athlete who was killed in a pedestrian accident.
Noah Farrelly was crossing the street on Stony Brook University's campus when he was hit by a car. The 18-year-old was a Binghamton High School graduate and a track and cross country athlete at Stony Brook.
BU plans to hold a moment of silence before the men's basketball game on Saturday for Farrelly, a fellow athlete of the America East Conference
Stony Brook's dean of students calls this a devastating loss.
"We are deeply saddened by the news of Noah's accident,” said the Binghamton School District in a statement. “He and his family have been an important part of the BCSD community. Our hearts go out to the Farrelly's during this difficult time"
Binghamton High School is offering counseling. A GoFund Me page has been set up for Noah's family.
