Campbell-Savona Principal Killed in Head-On Crash

URBANA, N.Y. -- A woman was killed when an SUV she was driving crashed head-on with a tractor trailer Tuesday afternoon on Route 54 in the Steuben County town of Urbana.

Lisa Hawken of Campbell was alone in the vehicle and driving south when, according to state police, her vehicle crossed over the center line and crashed into a truck heading north.

Hawken was pronounced dead at the scene, and the driver of the truck was taken by ambulance to a Bath hospital with injuries described as not life-threatening.

Hawken was 40 and was the principal of Campbell-Savona Jr./Sr. High School in Campbell.
